Borrowing



Who can borrow books? 

The material available can be borrowed by the following categories of users:
Members of the academic staff of the UI 30 books for 6 months
Postgraduate students of the UI 5 books for 1 month
Undergraduate students of the UI 2 books for two weeks
Postdoctoral researchers of the UI 30 books for 1 month
Foreign students who participate in interuniversity collaboration programs

Registered users can confirm their id by presenting their library card to the reference desk. Those who do not own one cannot borrow library materials.

What can be borrowed?
All library materials can be borrowed with the exception of reference books (encyclopedias, dictionaries, indexes, etc) and rare books. Material that is heavily used belongs to the student collection.

Journal issues and bound volumes cannot be borrowed.

Library material cannot be removed from the library premises without being recorded to the library system. The library user is responsible for the materials s/he has borrowed up to the day they return them to the library. Users cannot lend the borrowed materials to other users. In case of material damaging or loss the user is obliged to replace the material in question.

Reservations
Users can reserve items that are on loan and can borrow them as soon as they are returned.

Using the Catalogue
To use any of the library options on the library catalogue users will need the barcode of the library card and the id number for the password.

Returning books
All borrowed items should be returned to the reference desk on due date.

Fines
Loss of library id card: Users will be levied a 5 euro fine for loss of library card. Loss of library material: Users are obligated to replace any damaged or lost library item either by acquiring the latest editions or by producing the exact cost in cash to the reference desk of the library.
