Materials not available in the library of the University of Ioannina may be borrowed from other sources (mainly from academic Libraries in Greece or the British Library). Please note that this is a charged service. Materials include both books and journal articles. Journal articles will be photocopied for your retention, books will be loaned to you for a pre-agreed period of time. Before making a request, users should ensure that our library does not hold the items in questions by simply checking the catalogue. Request forms for both journal articles and/or books are available and can be obtained from the reference desk. Request forms should be completed in detail, signed by the user and returned to the ILL department.

The estimated time of delivery for journal articles is 2-5 days, for books from Greek academic libraries 10 days and 20-30 days from libraries abroad. The library user is obliged to return the borrowed books promptly and in good shape. Rare books, journal issues, bound volumes, encyclopedias and dictionaries can not be loaned.
